Turck releases SIL2 and Atex-approved Namur sensors with a flexible terminal chamber connection.
TURCK the German sensor specialist has released Namur sensors with SIL3 certification and ATEX approval for use in the Ex area. The inductive proximity sensors with a terminal chamber offer a vibration-proof connection using removable screw or cage clamp terminals, thus considerably simplifying exchange during servicing. The wash-down version WDTC Namur sensors also offer maximum freedom and switching distances. The user can select between straight or 90 degree angled cable outlet by simply rotating the cover. The cable is fed into the terminal chamber cover via a standard M16 cable gland.
LEDs in the terminal chamber indicate the switching state of the sensor to the user. The monitoring function for cable-break and short-circuit detection also helps to increase plant availability. The V4A steel sensor housing can withstand even the harshest media. With protection to IP68 and IP69K, as well as a temperature range from -40 to +100 °C, the sensors are suitable for use in extremely harsh environments. The entire sensor with terminal chamber is FDA-compliant.
